This is the root directory of the official GIMP ftp site.

These subdirectories contain various versions of the source code of
the GIMP.  Binaries contributed by third parties are also available
for various platforms.  Please visit http://www.gimp.org/ for details.

The subdirectories and their contents:

  v2.5      - Unstable development snapshots.
  v2.4      - The current stable subdirectory.  Here you'll find the most
              recent stable version of the GIMP source packages.
  v2.3      - Releases from the last development cycle.
  v2.2      - The former stable version, now replaced by GIMP 2.4.
  v2.0      - Even older version, now considered obsolete.
  v1.2      - Even older version, now considered obsolete.
  extras    - Additional data files: patterns, brushes, ...
  plug-ins  - Additional plug-ins for GIMP
  net-fu    - A WWW based method for remote GIMP generation of logos, etc.
